Serena Schuler

Serena Schuler is the writer, director, and producer of the sketch comedy series Cake Walk.  Her first film, The Ten Plagues, won the Audience Award at the Washington Jewish Film Festival and Audience Award Runner-Up at the Women in Comedy Festival.

Off set, she is a member of Film Fatales, an empowering collective of female filmmakers, which recently was featured in Indiewire and the NY Times. Serena is an active member of the San Francisco Film Society and Bay Area Women in Film + Media, and last year, she helped to launch the inaugural SF Web Fest.

Serena is passionate about encouraging young students to pursue writing and filmmaking.  She coaches creative writing with Young Storytellers, a screenwriting program which culminates in a live performance of the fifth graders’ scripts by improv comedians.  She is excited to speak at the inaugural Noe Valley Film Festival to empower young girls to make films.  She wishes she could subsist entirely on trail mix and ice cream.
